MARATHON RACE FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES IN NEW DELHI

Marathon race for Central Government Employees in New Delhi Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions Department of Personnel and Training to Hold Half Marathon for Central Employees and their Family Members in New Delhi Tomorrow Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board (CCSCSB) under the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) and Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) are jointly organizing Half Marathon race for Central Government Employees and their immediate families in New Delhi tomorrow. Theme of the event is to promote fitness amongst Central Government employees and their family members. MATERNITY BENEFIT ACT – CRECHE FACILITIES FOR EMPLOYEES

Maternity Benefit Act – Creche Facilities for Employees Ministry of Labour & Employment Creche Facilities for Employees 11 FEB 2019 The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 is enforced and implemented by the respective State Governments in all sectors except in the Mines and Circus Industries. As per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017, it has been made mandatory for the establishments employing 50 or more employees to provide creche facility, either separately or along with common facilities within a prescribed distance. Time to time, advisories are issued to State Governments for strict enforcement and compliance of the provisions of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961. Government does not maintain data of defaulters centrally. Implementation of provisions relating to nursing breaks are also enforced by State Governments, except in case of mines and circus. 7TH PAY COMMISSION BUDGET 2019 EXPECTATIONS

7th Pay Commission Budget 2019 expectations BUDGET 2019 Tomorrow (February 1, 2019) Finance Minister Piyush Goyal present Narendra Modi government’s sixth and final Budget. Weeks before General Elections, it is an interim budget. Yet, expectations are rife about big bang announcements in the wake of upcoming elections. Budget 2019   – Central Government employees have been demanding for long salary hike beyond the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. The budget is expected to address the fitment factor and minimum pay hike demand. The central government employees have been demanding a hike in the minimum pay scale to Rs 26,000 from the current Rs 18000 along with a fitment factor of 3.68 times from the present 2.57 times.

NPS WITHDRAWAL NORMS – GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES

Ministry of Finance NPS Withdrawal Norms 21 DEC 2018 The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has changed the norms for withdrawal of National Pension System (NPS) subscribers. Keeping in view the possibility of sudden financial needs of the subscribers, the requirement of minimum period under National Pension System (NPS) for availing the facility of partial withdrawal from the mandatory Tier-I account of the subscriber has been reduced from 10 years to 3 years from the date of joining w.e.f. 10th August, 2017. The minimum gap of 5 years between two partial withdrawals has also been removed w.e.f. 10th August, 2017. A subscriber is eligible for three partial withdrawals during the period of subscription under NPS, each withdrawal not exceeding twenty-five percent of the contributions made by the subscriber and excluding contributions made by the employer.
