 Latest Central Government Employees News   Central government employees will continue to get Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) at the current rates In the meantime, the centre has recently made it clear that central government workers are to continue to collect Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) at the present rate in the wait for the increase in the dearness allowance as outlined in the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. EPS PENSIONERS PROTESTING IN DELHI ON 27 FEBRUARY FOR THE MINIMUM MONTHLY PENSION

EPS Pensioners protesting in Delhi on 27 February for the minimum monthly pension All-India EPS-95 Pensioners Sangharsh Samiti will take out a march from the Jantar Mantar to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Delhi on February 27 for the minimum monthly pension of Rs 7500 under the scheme. EPS-95 pensioners from all over the country have been agitating on the issue of raising their pension since the last three years, but the Centre has done nothing except giving hollow assurances, a statement said Friday. “As per a Supreme Court order, EPS pensioners should be given a higher pension. At present they are getting the pension in range of Rs 200 to Rs 2500 per month, which is meagre in view of rising inflation,” the Sangharsh Samiti’s Bhopal coordinator R A Dharkar stated. Consumer Price Index July 2018 & DA August 2018 Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers on Base 2001=100. Monthly Index – July 2018 is 301 points. There has been very big increase of 10 points in July 2018 , this increase of CPI is highest in last four years. DA as on 1st August is 10.36%. CABINET APPROVES ADDITIONAL 2 PERCENT DEARNESS ALLOWANCE (DA) FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AND DEARNESS RELIEF (DR) TO PENSIONERS W.E.F. 1ST JULY, 2018

Cabinet approves additional 2 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 1st July, 2018 2% DA Posted On: 29 AUG 2018 1:05PM by PIB Delhi The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modihas approved to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.07.2018 representing an increase of 2% over the existing rate of 7% of the Basic Pay/Pension, to compensate for price rise. The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Deamess Relief would be Rs.6112.20 crore per annum and Rs.4074.80 crore in the financial year 2018-19 (for a period of 08 months from July, 2018 to February, 2019). This will benefit about 48.41 lakh Central Government employees and 62.03 lakh pensioners. This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations ...
