Age Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen for appearing in Civil Services Exam Ministry of Defence AGE RELAXATION FOR DEFENCE PERSONNEL BY UPSC The policy on age relaxation applicable for ex-servicemen for appearing in Civil Services Exam (Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ Posts) is governed by ‘Ex-servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1979’ as amended vide DoP&T Notification No. 36034/1/06-Estt.(SCT) dated 4th October, 2012. The following provisions have been made:- For appointment to any vacancy in Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ services or posts filled by direct recruitment otherwise than on the result of an Open All India Competitive Examination, the upper age limit shall be relaxed by the length of military service increased by three years in the case of ex-servicemen and Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers or Short Service Commissioned Officers. UPSC: CIVIL SERVICES (PRELIMINARY) EXAMINATION – 2018

UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2018 07 MAY 2018 Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination-2018 on 03.06.2018 (Sunday) all over India. The Commission has uploaded the e‑Admit Card for the convenience of the admitted candidates on its website (http://www.upsc.gov.in). The candidates are advised to download their e-Admit Cards and take a printout thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Card at the allotted Venue for appearing at the Examination. In case the photograph is not clear, blurred or not available on the e-Admit Card, candidates will have to carry two (2) identical photographs (one photograph for each Session) along with proof of Identity such as Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID Card etc. and the printout of e-Admit Card at the Venue of the Examination for appearing at the Examination with an undertaking. Government considering report on age limit for civil service exams Nearly eight months after its submission, the report of Baswan committee that suggested changes in civil service exam pattern and age limit is under examination, the government has said. The committee had submitted its report to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on 9 August 2016. "The Baswan Committee's report along with UPSC's recommendations on it has been received on 20 March 2017 and the same is under examination," the department of personnel and training (DoPT) said in response to an RTI query filed by a PTI correspondent. Thousands of aspirants appear in the civil service exam conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages - preliminary, mains and interview - to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
