Kerala Government issued an order to deduct the salary of government employees for six days every month

  The Kerala Government issued an order to deduct the salary of government employees for six days every month for the next five months as part of raising funds for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the State. The order made it clear that there will be no salary cut for those staff who earn less than Rs.20,000 per month. The Kerala government has extended to cut salary of government employees and teachers for 6 more months. The state government had decided to deduct the salary of 6 days every month in the salary of employees for a total of 5 months from April to August, which has now been extended for another 6 months. The pay cut for 6 more months was approved in the Kerala cabinet meeting last week. However, giving relief to the employees, the state government had announced that the money of salary cut will be given to the employees in PF by next year. Government will soon start the selection process for the new PFRDA chairman The government will soon start selection process for a new chairman of pension fund regulator PFRDA to succeed the present chief, Hemant G Contractor, whose term is slated to end in April. “The Finance Ministry will soon come out with an advertisement to find a successor to head the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA),” Contractor’s term will be completed on April 30, 2019. PFRDA was re-constituted into a statutory body after notification of PFRDA Act in 2014. Contactor is the first Chairman to head the regulatory body. He had joined   PFRDA   on October 7, 2014. As per the Act, the chairman will have a tenure of 5 years or till age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. Old Pension Scheme (OPS) Will Be Restored in Delhi Kejriwal said a resolution to restore the old pension scheme would be passed in a special session of the assembly. “It will then be sent to the Centre for approval. I will fight with the Centre to get it implemented.” Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday, November 26, that the old pension scheme will be restored by his government and he will write to his counterparts in other states to follow suit. Kejriwal said a resolution to restore the old pension scheme in the city will be passed in a special session of the legislative assembly. “It will then be sent to the Centre for approval. I will fight with the Centre to get it implemented,” Kejriwal said while addressing a rally organised by the All Teachers, Employees Welfare Association (ATEWA) at Ramlila Ground here. Give asset details or lose promotions and foreign postings: Government to IAS officers All IAS officers have been asked to submit details of their assets by next month and warned that the failure to do so would lead to a denial of vigilance clearances needed for promotions and foreign postings. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has written to all Central government departments, states and union territories asking them to ensure submission of Immovable Property Returns (IPRs) by IAS officers working with them by January 31, 2018. "In view of the DoPTs instructions dated April 4, 2011, it is reiterated that failure to ensure timely submission of IPR would result in denial of vigilance clearance," Establishment Officer and Additional Secretary P K Tripathi said in the recent missive. Government can not accommodate employee in lower pay scale because of disability: High Court The Allahabad High Court has held that the government cannot accommodate an employee in a post with a lower pay scale just because he or she acquired some disability during service and became unfit for the current post. A bench comprising justices Bharati Sapru and Siddharth passed the order while dismissing a petition filed by the Ministry of Railways. The court directed the ministry to pay S Q Ahmed (accommodated on a post with lower pay scale because he acquired some disability) his dues according to higher pay grade with 7 per cent interest from the due date. It also imposed a cost of Rs 50,000 on railways for not giving its employee his legitimate dues and for dragging him into litigation for no fault on his part.
