On 1-month percentage change, it increased by (+) 0.70 per cent between December, 2017 and January, 2018 when compared with the decrease of (-) 0.36 per cent for the corresponding months of last year. The maximum upward pressure to the change in current index came from Housing group contributing (+) 3.99 percentage points to the total change. At item level, Goat Meat, Poultry (Chicken), Tea (Readymade), Pan Leaf, Doctor's Fee, Medicine (Allopathic), Cinema Charges, Bus Fare, Petrol, Flowers/Flower Garlands, etc. are responsible for the increase in index.
