REVISION OF INTEREST RATES FOR SMALL SAVINGS SCHEMES

Revision of interest rates for Small Savings Schemes F.No.01/04/2016-NS Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Economic Affairs (Budget Division) Office Memorandum North Block, New Delhi Dated: 29.03.2019 Subject: Revision of interest rates for Small Savings Schemes. On the basis of the decision of the Government, interest rates for small savings schemes are notified on quarterly basis since 1st April, 2016 . Accordingly, the rates of interest on various small savings schemes for the first quarter of financial year 2019-20 staring 1st April, 2019 and ending on 30th June, 2019 shall remain unchanged from those notified for the fourth quarter of financial year 2018-19. UJALA - Unnat Jyoti By Affordable LEDs for All : FAQ 1. WHAT IS THE UJALA SCHEME? Hon'ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi described the LED bulb as "Prakash Path" - "way to light". A simple act of change of one light bulb to LED at South Block Prime Minister's office heralded a movement in the entire country for considering the same change. The initiative is part of the Government of India's efforts to spread the message of energy efficiency in the country. UJALA scheme aims to promote efficient use of energy at the residential level; enhance the awareness of consumers about the efficacy of using energy efficient appliances and aggregating demand to reduce the high initial costs thus facilitating higher uptake of LED lights by residential users.
